P-CEP Sophomore Arjun Swaminathan Wins Neuroscience Prize

P-CEP Sophomore Arjun Swaminathan's pursuit of knowledge in about the inner workings of the human brain paid off in a big way recently when he took top honors in the prestigious University of Michigan Brain Bee.

Swaminathan, who is also a co-chair of the P-CCS Board of Education's Student Voice in Action Committee, bested a field of more than 60 students across Southeast Michigan to take the competition's top prize.

The Brain Bee is a high school neuroscience competition which sees students identify neurological disorders and diseases and demonstrate an advanced understanding of the function and anatomy of the nervous system.

As a result of his victory at the local competition, Swaminathan will represent PCCS and get the chance to compete with top students across the nation at the National Brain Bee Championship at UC Irvine on April 25.
